Hi, I am Jefferson.
This is my portfolio for the Communication Associate position at Earthjustice.
I have a degree in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia, and I’ve always loved doing ecocriticism.
But, I’ve always had a passion for environmental advocacy through communications and multimedia work so that more people know what is at stake, and how beautiful nature and its expressions are.
My passion lies in being able to work through design, media, and writing to advocate for communities, both ecological and humanitarian, impacted by climate change.

Communications and Development at the Korea Society (501(c)(3))
At The Nuclear Age Peace Foundation (501(c)3), advocating for nuclear non-proliferation, victim assistance, and environmental remediation, I wrote, edited, and initiated media campaigns for a NAPF/RTT, which includes our podcast that still runs today.

Aside from attending these international meetings, we’ve also been hosting workshops with Marshallese youth, to talk about these issues that impact our country and our people, issues that are not talked about in their classes, and not mentioned in their history books. At The Columbia Daily Spectator, we honed in on issues surrounding our Morningside Heights campus. I co-designed a story that won the SJP Mark of Excellence Awards
As part of my research project in French Polynesia through the Columbia K=1 Center for Nuclear Studies, I filmed and produced a short documentary on music and nuclear/environmental justice.
At the Columbia Pops Orchestra, I designed and coordinated its concert and member outreach programs.
